L. Julian Haywood , MD Professor of Medicine Research Interests
We are continuing to explore aspects of the differential risks, pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical outcomes of different population subgroups; the parameters involved include clinical descriptors (rhythm disturbances, chamber enlargement, extent of ischema), laboratory (CK, hemograms, etc.) and basic physilogy (flow mechanisms, osmotic changes, etc.). In addition, we are continuing to explore cardiovascular manifestations and pathophysilogy in sickle cell anemia. Clinical Interests
Myocardial ischema, pathophysiologic mechanisms and clinical parameters Cardiac arrhythmias-clinical mechanisms and management Cardivascular manifestations of sickle cell anemia Noninvasive proceedures for cardiovascular diagnosis High blood pressure-clinical management Psyco-social and socioeconomic factors in cardiac illness
