Fellows will receive inpatient and outpatient training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology through their participation on consultative services. Cardiac electrophysiology disease services are conducted at LAC+USC, USC University Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center, Children’s Hospital, and include both inpatient and outpatient care.
The Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow will have already completed the third year of an ACGME accredited Cardiology Fellowship. The CCEP Fellow will work in conjunction with CCEP Attending, Cardiology Attendings, Other Service Attendings, Cardiology Fellows, Medical Residents, Medical Students, and Health Care Staff during clinical rotations. The monthly rotation will provide a balanced and complete clinical experience in consultative cardiac electrophysiology, diagnostic studies, procedures, and patient follow-up. The CCEP Fellow will be given progressive decision-making experience in close consultation as the CCEP year progresses, and will be expected to achieve progressive increasing levels of performance in consultative cardiac electrophysiology, diagnostic studies, procedures, and patient follow-up. The CCEP Fellow will care for patients in the following settings to achieve a broad and intensive clinical experience:
