The USC Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program provides direct care or consultation for adults with cystic fibrosis. We are a part of a teaching institution and are actively involved in clinical research. Our multidisciplinary team, headed by pulmonologists, consists of nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and dieticians. We are also supported and staffed with specialty consultants such as endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, hepatology, cardiothoracic transplant, and general surgery. With the support of all specialties, our program offers a comprehensive care approach in providing adult cystic fibrosis patients with state of the art therapies and evidence based practices.

The Program is located in the heart of Los Angeles and is conveniently located off the I-10 and I-5 freeways. The outpatient clinic is located at the USC Health Consultation Center II and in-patients are hospitalized at the USC University Hospital, conveniently located two buildings up from the outpatient clinic. Our outpatient clinics are held every Monday, except for holidays, from 1:00-5:00pm. However, should any patient need to see a physician urgently, an appointment can be arranged for any day of the week. Patients admitted under our program are housed at the USC University Hospital. Patients are admitted directly through our Nurse Coordinator, as our facility does not have an emergency room. During the hospitalization we can provide an array of hospital services such as respiratory therapy, diabetes education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietary services, and social services. The Medical Directors are Bertrand Shapiro M.D. and A. Purush Rao, M.D.
