It is apparent that our faculty has a major commitment to research and that they play a key role in developing many multidisciplinary research programs working collaboratively with their colleagues from other departments and schools. With the recent increased focus on research by the Keck School of Medicine, this Department and its faculty are well-positioned to make a major contribution in the future for achieving the strategic goal of making the Keck School of Medicine rank in the top ten research institutions nationally.
