The Adult Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at USC provides a full range of evaluation and treatment approaches for patients with epilepsy. Our goal is to find ways to treat patients with epilepsy on an individual and personalized basis, while maximizing quality of life. We feel it is necessary to educate our patients and their families about epilepsy by providing information regarding treatment options and psychological support.
Multi-Discplinary Approach
The USC Adult Comprehensive Epilepsy Program exists as a collaborative effort between Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology and the disciplines of Neuropsychology. Each of these disciplines is critical to the decisions made in the care of our patients. We meet bimonthly as a multi-disciplinary team to review cases and make decisions regarding on-going management and patient care.
Our approaches include a variety of medication regimens, vagus nerve stimulation, and epilepsy surgery. We also provide psychologic support within our out-patient clinic. We have a dedicated clinical neuropsychologist who understands the challenges faced by persons with epilepsy and their families.
