Dr. Gere diZerega
Dr. diZerega continues to perform research in the area of etiology of pelvic adhesions and prevention of pelvic adhesions following surgical procedures in the female pelvis. In 2000-2001 Dr. diZerega performed research to determine the efficacy of a new agent to prevent adhesions after surgical procedures in the female pelvis. Efficacy and safety of 4% 120 dextran solution was studies in 20 subjects.

Dr. Subir Roy
Dr. Roy performs research on use of antimicrobal agents for treatment of acute pelvic infections in women as well as agents to treat the problems of postmenopausal hormone deficiency. In one study Dr. Roy enrolled the largest number of subjects in a study of the use of ertapenem to treat acute pelvic infection.

Dr. Daniel Mishell
Dr. Mishell completed 2 clinical trials with an intrauterine system and a vaginal contraceptive ring releasing the hormone nestorone under the sponsorship of the Population Council. In a multicenter randomized trial of use of the agent Epoetin to treat anemic women levonorgestrum undergoing hysterectomy. This center enrolled more subjects than any other center involved in the study.
