Through its private practice group called University Pathology Associates (UPA), the Department of Pathology faculty provide a comprehensive range of laboratory services to further the research, teaching, and service missions of the Keck School of Medicine. The testing services are provided to USC physicians as well as for national outreach needs. Together the USC laboratories offer complete reference laboratory services in both clinical and anatomic pathology to hospital and doctor offices across Southern California.

The USC Clinical Laboratories are CLIA-licensed and CAP-certified to perform high complexity clinical laboratory work. Composed of both departmental and non-departmental specialty laboratories, testing includes breast cancer analysis, diagnostic electron microscopy, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and endocrine, hypertension, renal, and reproductive endocrine services. The Clinical Laboratories specialize in advanced flow cytometry methods.
