The Department of Pathology graduate programs provide students
with a sound understanding of concepts and research techniques in
human disease at the levels of molecules, cells and organs.
Ph.D. & M.S. Admissions Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements of the
USC Graduate School, as well as the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a natural science from an accredited college
or university.
- A minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0.
- A minimum score of 1100 (verbal + quantitative) on the general
Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), although a high MCAT score
may substitute.
- English language proficiency. (A minimum TOEFL score of 600
is required for students with English as a second language).
Application Process
Applicants must apply to and be accepted by both the USC Graduate
School and the Department of Pathology to enter the graduate programs.
Applications are considered for admission to both the fall and spring
semesters.
As acceptance is based partly on recommendations from department
faculty based on personal interviews, the department prefers applicants
to arrange an on-campus interview when geographically and financially
feasible.
Deadlines: Applications for the Ph.D. in Pathobiology program are
due March 1, for Fall of that year. Applications for the M.S. program
are accepted continuously throughout the year.
Follow the instructions for applying to the USC Graduate School.
