The Center for Newborn and Infant Critical Care (CNICC) at CHLA is a designated California Children's Services Regional Center and is affiliated with the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.

At the CHLA CNICC all neonatologists are board-certified, paneled California Children's Services providers. In addition to providing state-of-the art clinical care, the faculties are nationally and internationally recognized for their involvement in basic, translational and clinical research and medical student, pediatric resident and neonatal fellow training. The CNICC is equipped with the latest technology and the newest treatment modalities to provide the highest level of neonatal intensive care possible.

The CNICC at CHLA utilizes the around-the-clock services of an integrated team of specialists that provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services ranging from noninvasive procedures to complex surgical techniques. Our medical team includes board certified neonatologists, neonatal fellows, nurse practitioners, CNICC nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, dieticians, pharmacists and occupational and physical therapists. In addition, an unparalleled spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists are involved in the care of the critically ill babies with often extremely complex and challenging conditions. These subspecialists include, but are not restricted to, pediatric cardiologists, endocrinologists, hematologists, oncologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, neurologists, geneticists, gastroenterologists, general pediatric and cardiothoracic surgeons, ear-nose-and-throat specialists, ophthalmologists, orthopedists and plastic surgical specialists.
