Women's & Children's Hospital at the USC Medical Center -- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

The NICU at the LAC+USC Women's and Children's Hospital has 48 licensed beds. The faculty and hospital staff care for neonates with a variety of disease complexities, ranging from the very high-risk, often extremely premature, critically ill neonate to the less premature infant with medium to lower disease severity. While the majority of the babies are either born at the LAC+USC site or admitted from the hospital's emergency department, the unit also accepts critically ill patients transferred in from different other NICUs who can benefit from the highly specialized and developmentally-oriented patient care provided by experienced personnel from a variety of professional areas.

This hospital, which is part of the LAC+USC Medical Center, is in the LA County Department of Health Services (LACDHS). The LACDHS web site is a useful resource for information on LA-wide hospitals and clinics, and for information on the many types of health-related support available to the community.
