Neonatology
The USC Division of Neonatal Medicine (neonatology)
is part of the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School
of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Two
host sites contain the two subdivisions: The Division of Neonatology
at LAC+USC Women's &
Children's Hospital, and the Division of Newborn and Infant
Critical Care at Childrens
Hospital Los Angeles.
The faculty and support staff in the division attend to the
medical needs of a diverse population of sick newborns at
the division's two primary (host) sites, and at its two affiliated
sites, the Hollywood
Presbyterian Medical Center and the Good
Samaritan Medical Center. Because of the presence of state-of-the-art
intellectual and technological infrastructure at these sites
and a large referral base in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan
area, challenging conditions such as persistent pulmonary
hypertension of the newborn, congenital heart disease, extreme
prematurity and its complications, and a comprehensive group
of surgical conditions can be treated with the latest innovations.
