Description of fellowship:
Comprehensive training during the first year in diagnosis
and treatment of pediatric hematology and oncology patients
including leukemia / lymphoma, bone and soft tissue sarcomas,
neuro-oncology, hematology and hemostasis and autologous and
allogenic stem cell transplantation. Training in basic science,
translational or clinical research during the 2nd and 3rd
year covering tumor biology (neuroblastoma, brain tumors,
bone and soft tissue sarcomas), carcinogenesis, pharmacology,
gene expression studies, gene therapy (immunodeficiency, thalassemia
and sickle cell disease), immunregulation, as well as clinical
studies in hematology, hemostasis, oncology including MPH
in epidemiology and statistics and MS in medical statistics,
both at USC.
