Description of fellowship:
The Infectious Disease Fellowship at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is designed to
train the participating physician to become a competent academician in pediatric
infectious diseases. It is a well-balanced and thorough program in both the clinical
and laboratory disciplines. Over its 3-year duration the training program provides
adequate time in training laboratory investigation, clinical infectious disease
training, and clinical research training. In addition, participating physicians
will have ample opportunity to refine their teaching skills. Upon completion of
training it is expected that the graduate would be well prepared to offer effective
care to pediatric patients with infectious diseases and to be capable to embark on an
independent career as an investigator in pediatric infectious diseases.
