Asit Shil

Assistant Professor of Clinical

Dr. Shil graduated from Chittagong Medical College and completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Chittagong University Hospital in 1992. He was involved in research in the Division of Cardiology at Keck School of Medicine before doing a Family Medicine Internship at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore, New York, in 2004. He continued and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Warren Hospital with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey, in 2007. He then completed a geriatric medicine fellowship in the Department of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine. During his fellowship, he was also involved in research at NYU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. His clinical and research interest continue in the areas of dementias and functional impairments. In addition to precepting in the family health center and supervising the family medicine and nursing home services, Dr. Shil also supervises the geriatric curriculum. His free time is spent in traveling. He enjoys music and long-drives.
