The Keck Department of Preventive Medicine has been a leader in its field for more than a quarter century. The Department aims to identify causes of the diseases that most impact public health, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease, and to develop new ways to prevent them.
Recently the department underwent a comprehensive external peer review as mandated by the university. The key conclusion cited the “intellectual excitement of faculty and students, a precious aura of collegiality, genuine interdisciplinary interest, and world-class academic scholarship that ranges over and integrates a multitude of interconnected scientific disciplines.”
