The Institute for Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Research (IPR) offers multidisciplinary training for baccalaureate, master, and doctoral students as well as postdoctoral fellows. Students at all levels of training are afforded numerous opportunities for involvement in ongoing research with IPRs world-class faculty and researchers.

The B.S. program takes into account the sociocultural, behavioral, psychological, biological, and environmental factors that contribute to wellness and disease. Students combine coursework with hands-on research guided by IPR research faculty.
Master of Public Health Program »
The MPH program equips students with the theory and practical skills required to work both in traditional public health and community settings. Students benefit from the opportunity to study and complete their practicum training in Southern Californias rich multi-cultural environment.
Ph.D. Preventive Medicine - Health Behavior Research »
The Ph.D. program combines rigorous study in theory and research methods from public health, preventive medicine, psychology, epidemiology, communication, and biostatistics. Students in the Ph.D. program conduct supervised and independent research, preparing them for both academic and applied health research careers.
Postdoctoral Program »
USC offers research and scholarly training to those seeking future research positions in academe, industry or government. The Institute for Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Research, Division of Health Behavior Research, in close alliance with IPR, offers postdoctoral training programs in cancer control and epidemiology, obesity, and transdisciplinary tobacco and drug abuse prevention research. The purpose of the programs is to train postdoctoral fellows in behavioral and biomedical disciplines to conduct collaborative as well as independent research in their chosen areas of specialization.
