Suad Kapetanovic , M.D. Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry Dr. Kapetanovic is Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at USC Keck School of Medicine. He completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2004) and did his residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Kapetanovic received his medical degree in 1995 from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, in Zagreb, Croatia. Dr. Kapetanovic provides on-site individual, psychiatric care to patients at the Maternal Child & Adolescent Center for Infectious Diseases & Virology. He is the site Principal investigator for multi-site psychiatric and behavioral studies, including a PACTG study on the side effects of stimulant medication in HIV-infected children with ADHD, as well as an ATN study on the role of motivational enhancement therapy in reducing high risk behavior in HIV-infected youth. Dr. Kapetanovic is also working on a study with UCLA regarding group therapy intervention for HIV-infected mothers and their adolescents. He recently initiated a group of single-site clinical studies that will investigate multiple aspects of postpartum depression in HIV-infected women. He works with USC faculty and staff (social workers, psychiatric providers, substance abuse specialists, case managers and marriage/family therapists) to develop a multidisciplinary approach to his research.Clinical Interests
