Goals and Objectives for Neuroradiology
Fellowship
1. Maintain and improve an outstanding Neuroradiology Training
Program that
satisfies ACGME requirements and continues to receive their
accreditation
and endorsement.
2. Maintain and improve the quality of teaching for residents
and fellows. At the
End of training, they are expected to demonstrate a proficient
knowledge of the anatomy and pathological disease processes
of the central nervous system on neuroimaging studies. They
should be well-trained in neuroradiological procedures including
invasive angiography, ultrasound and spinal interventional
procedures. They should be well-trained to interact and serve
as a consultant to primary care physicians, emergency room
and trauma physician, neurologist, neurosurgeons, otolaryngologists,
ophthalmologists and vascular surgeons.
3. Encourage fellows to participate in teaching of residents.
They are to encouraged to conduct teaching on a daily basis.
They are required to give teaching conference to residents
once to twice a year.
4. Encourage and mandate staff, fellows and residents participation
in clinical research and other scholarly activities. Fellows
are required to conduct clinical research and to present the
results of their research at one of the local and national
scientific meetings.
5. Maintain and improve an extensive teaching file and create
a digitized
teaching file in Neuroradiology.
6. All fellows are expected to pass the American Board of
Radiology with special competence in Neuroradiology.
