Dedicated Mammography Unit

This state-of-the-art x-ray system is designed specifically for breast imaging. Our entire facility, equipment, and personnel have been accredited by the American College of Radiology and the Mammography Quality Standard Act, confirming our high quality of care.

Ultrasound (US)

Sonography uses reflected acoustic waves, rather than radiation, to image parts of the body. It has a wide range of uses. In reference to Women's Imaging, it is an adjunct to mammography to evaluate the breast and is the imaging of choice for the pelvis.

Bone Densitometry - Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA)

This x-ray system is the method of choice for measuring bone mass. The typical examination consists of bone mineral density (BMD) measurement at two sites, the lumbar spine and the proximal femur. The BMD measurement is then compared to a young adult reference population and to age-matched controls.

Computer Tomography (CT) scanners

A CT scanner images sequential sections of the patient, like slices of a loaf of bread. Images are reconstructed by computer from x-rays taken by cameras located in the donut-like scanner that the patient is passed through. A CT scan may be performed on any part of the body.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scanner

Like a CT scanner, an MRI scanner consists of a cylinder-like scanner that the patient passes through. The MR scanner, however, has a slightly longer cylinder, and uses magnetic waves rather than radiation to image the body. MRI can image sequential sections of the body in multiple planes (up and down like a CT scanner, but also side-to-side and front-to-back).
