Fellowship

The University of Southern California Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Hand and Microsurgical Fellowship is a one year program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) leading to eligibility for the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery. Rotations include those at the University of Southern California Health Sciences Campus and the Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) located in Van Nuys, California.

The Fellowship incorporates a one year experience in all aspects of elective and emergent microvascular reconstruction and hand surgery. Our program utilizes the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center as well as the USC University Hospital, the Norris Cancer Center, the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, the City of Hope National Medical Center, and finally the Southern California Orthopedic Institute. While on rotation at USC, our fellow serves as primary surgeon on between 75 and 90 elective free tissue transfers, numerous replantations and revascularizations. The Southern California Orthopedic Institute rotation consists of the entire spectrum of hand surgery including a rich exposure to endoscopy and/or arthroscopy. Additionally, we encourage you to take advantage of the ample opportunities in clinically related research.

A personal letter with recommendations and CV and/or a universal application may be submitted to our offices. (Qualifications required)
