About Prostate Cancer: Symptoms
In its early stages, prostate cancer usually has few or no symptoms. However, some men with prostate cancer may experience:
Frequent need to urinate,
especially at night, or difficulty holding back urine

Difficulty urinating,
or weak, interrupted flow of urine

Painful or burning urination

Difficulty achieving an erection

Painful ejaculation

Blood in urine or semen

Persistent pain or stiffness
in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs.
These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have prostate cancer; in fact, they are much more likely to indicate that you have benign prostate enlargement. However, if you have experienced any of the above symptoms or if you are a man over 50 who has not had a recent prostate cancer screening, you should see your physician for testing.
