All applicants to the Keck School of Medicine M.D. program must have completed a minimum of four full years or 120 semester hours of academic work at an accredited college or university at the time of matriculation. Applicants are strongly encouraged to have their basic science requirements completed at the time of application.
Required Courses
- General Biology + Lab 2 semesters/ 3 quarters
- General Chemistry + Lab 2 semesters/ 3 quarters
- Organic Chemistry + Lab 1 semester/ 2 quarters
- Physics + Lab 2 semesters/ 3 quarters
- Biochemistry 1 semester/ 1 quarter
- Molecular Biology* 1 course
- Social Sciences, Humanities, and English Composition 30 semester hours
- * Molecular Biology requirement met by following courses: molecular genetics, cell and molecular biology, advanced cell biology or the equivalent
Advanced Placement (AP) coursework will not fulfill required courses. All required courses must be completed for a letter grade

To be considered for admission, applicants to the 2010 entering
medical school class are required to have taken the MCAT no
earlier than 2006 and no later than September 2009. Scores
from earlier administrations of the examination are not acceptable
for consideration. Early Decision applicants must have taken
