| Residents
are employees of the LAC+USC Medical Center. As such residents
must follow the employee policies established by the County
of Los Angeles and the State of California.
Employment Eligibility Verification
United States citizenship is not a requirement of employment.
However, applicants who are not citizens of the U.S. must
assume the responsibility for initiating and arranging their
entry to the U.S. through the Immigration and Naturalization
Service. LAC+USC Medical Center is not responsible for securing
entry into the United States. All resident physicians upon
inception of employment at LAC+USC Medical Center must be
able to complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (INS
Form I-9).
County of Los Angeles Equal Opportunity Policy
It is the policy of the Department of Health Services to

Loyalty Oath
By State of California Law, as a condition of employment,
County employees must be willing to take a Loyalty Oath, which
reads as follows:
"I, your name, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I
will support and defend the Constitution of the United States
and the Constitution of the State of California against all
enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith
and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and
the Constitution of the State of California; that I take this
obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose
of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge
the duties upon which I am about to enter."
Fingerprinting & Employee Physical
Two other conditions of County employment are that County
employees must be fingerprinted as part of the registration
process upon beginning employment and must pass a pre-employment
physical.
Social Security Number
A Social Security Number is required for County employment.
