Childrens Hospital
Los Angeles

Among the countries top 10 pediatric facilities and affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine since 1932, CHLA trains hundreds of pediatric specialists who will provide care to the children of the community for generations to come. Through its multidisciplinary leadership in pediatric and adolescent medicine, CHLA has become a pioneer in “family-centered care,” and operates an internationally renowned research program.

Now ranked fifth in the nation in federal research funding to stand-alone pediatric facilities, Childrens Hospital continues to address the most vexing pediatric medical problems. Founded in 1901, the now 314-bed nonprofit Childrens Hospital serves nearly 55,000 children in the emergency department and more than 11,000 children are admitted to the hospital. There are more than 315, 000 visits a year to 29 outpatient clinics and more than 8,000 teens are seen at community sites through the division of adolescent medicine.

CHLA is continually recognized for discovering important new therapies including advances in pediatric cancer care, gene therapy, stem cell and organ transplantation and diabetes. Childrens Hospital continues to set the standard for pediatric medical care-not only in Los Angeles but nationally and internationally.
