Opened in 1991, USC University Hospital is a private, 293-bed referral, research and teaching hospital staffed by the faculty of the Keck School of Medicine of USC. This ultra-modern hospital was designed to provide a comfortable setting in which patients receive personal care and access to the most advanced health care services.
Among the hospitals specialized services are programs in transplantation, bloodless surgery, stereotactic neurosurgery, cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology. Surgical specialties include cardiothoracic, esophageal, orthopaedic, and plastic and reconstructive surgeries.
Located near downtown Los Angeles on the USC Health Sciences Campus, USC University Hospital represents the in-patient component of the faculty private practice at the Keck School of Medicine. The future of USC University Hospital is promising, with construction underway for a new 10-story tower set to open in 2004.
