» Established in 1885 making Keck the oldest medical school in Southern California.

EDUCATION

» On the forefront of medical education with a recently redesigned curriculum that is integrated and hands on.
» Among the first medical schools to adopt Introduction to Clinical Medicine courses for first-year students, providing real-world experience in patient care from the start of medical school.
» Led movement toward the use of the "standardized patient" for medical training, an idea that has taken root at schools across the nation. A "standardized patient" is a person carefully trained to portray all of the characteristics of a real patient and provide feedback to the students, especially with regard to communication and bedside skills.
