Associate Senior Vice President, Health Sciences Public
Relations and Marketing, and Associate Dean of the Keck School
of Medicine
 Jane directs the operations of writing, editing, and media
relations and marketing on the Health Sciences Campus. She
is charged with devising public relations strategies and overseeing
a media and communications campaign that positions the USC
Health Sciences faculty as leaders in education, patient care
and research.
She also provides oversight to a campus-wide marketing campaign
and supervises staff who conduct public relations for on-campus
hospitals and affiliated academic units such as the schools
of pharmacy and dentistry. She is publisher of the HSC
Weekly, USC/Norris Cancer Center Report and USC Health.
Jane reports to Martha Harris, senior vice president of
university relations, and serves as her advisor on matters
relating to biomedicine, clinical medicine and related subjects.
She formerly served as assistant vice president for public
affairs at The University of Texas Health Science Center at
Houston, where she helped to plan and implement strategic
programs that advanced the institution’s mission through
media relations, internal and external communications, special
events and community relations, among other activities. A
native Houstonian, Jane joined The University of Texas Health
Science Center in 2001. She previously served as director
of communications for The University of Texas M. D. Anderson
Cancer Center, where she worked for 17 years.
She is a graduate of Leadership Houston and a winner of numerous
public relations awards, including the 1991 Headliner Award
presented by the Association for Women in Communications.
At M. D. Anderson she directed programs that twice received
national recognition by the American Association of Medical
Colleges.
