Leslie Ridgeway
Director of Media Relations

Leslie Ridgeway develops and puts into practice communication strategies for the Keck School of Medicine and other health sciences programs. She also works to promote the activities and research of USC professors, scientists, physicians, nurses and other health care staff to local, national and international news media.

Leslie’s background includes seven years at the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, with a focus on Public Health Services. While at the County, Leslie provided crisis communication response during two wildfires and numerous disease outbreaks. In addition, she was instrumental in developing the County’s Pandemic Flu communication plan. The County won a National Association of Counties (NACo) award for a series of regional crisis communication trainings that Leslie created and executed.

Her career includes three years in the Corporate Communications department of Sharp HealthCare in San Diego. She also has 14 years of experience as a reporter and editor for newspapers in Humboldt and San Diego counties, notably 10 years at the North County Times, a daily newspaper in San Diego County.

Leslie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
