The Office of Research Advancement provides support for research grant proposal preparation in a variety of ways. The staff members listed at right are available to assist. One of these individuals should be contacted for an initial consultation about specific needs. To progress from consultation to support, the faculty member will be asked to fill out and submit a Grant Proposal Services request form.

The Vice Dean for Research can assist investigators in finding collaborators for specific project needs.
The Vice Dean for Research provides letters in support of grant proposal submission and coordinates with the dean’s office for letters that must be signed by the dean.
The Office of Research Administration provides assistance in interpreting instructions, constructing budgets, and finding/ completing forms. This office can also assist with boiler plate material such as needed for grant proposal resource pages.
Coordinated by Dr. Kathryn Rich, Director of Research Development, the Office of Research Advancement provides comprehensive support for development of institutional grant proposals, such as NIH center grants or training grants. This support includes provision of boilerplate material, assistance with letters of support, editing services, coordination of data for tables, grant assembly, reviewing, and other support as needed.
Human resources are not unlimited. The office does not have a specific deadline for notification about need for institutional grants support services, however the more lead time that is given, the more likely that help can be provided. Three to four months before the submission deadline is suggested. This service is provided on a first come, first served basis.
The Keck School's Office of Foundation Relations is primarily responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts from private, community and corporate foundations. However, this office will also help individual faculty members identify foundation gift and grant opportunities. Please click the link above for more information.
