Office of
Research Advancement

 

 

The Office of Research Advancement is responsible for supporting and fostering the research programs of the faculty members of the Keck School of Medicine. In addition, the office administers graduate training programs in the basic sciences.

As part of the dean's leadership team, Research Advancement is responsible for the following:

  • Strategic planning for the research enterprise
  • Coordination of research leadership and research faculty recruitments
  • Research contribution to management of the annual budgeting process for departments/institutes
  • Oversight of the Provost-designated research funds
  • Advancement of the research funding portfolio, including support for multidisciplinary grant proposal development and training grants
  • Management of captive foundation funds
  • Research grants administration
  • Research space management
  • Research core resources
  • Oversight of research regulatory issues and faculty compliance, conduct and conflict of interest issues
  • Graduate student affairs
  • Postdoctoral affairs
  • Integration of Keck School programs with university-wide research initiatives
