The Office for Women is committed to enhancing the professional development and leadership potential of women and helping each woman to overcome the prejudice, discrimination in gender role and stereotyping experienced by modern women.
The office manages services and resources for women faculty, staff and students at the Keck School of Medicine. Issues commonly handled in this office include professional development, negotiation, conflict resolution and career guidance.
The office sponsors events related to womens health and leadership for junior faculty and women students. The office provides support for the American Medical Womens Association Student Chapter on the University Park Campus and the Medical Faculty Womens Association (MFWA), including a mentor program, mentor dinner and other activities.
The office strives to promote a working environment that fosters effective utilization of the talents of women. It also monitors Title IX compliance by the Keck School of Medicine.
