Handbook 2007
August 2007
Dear Student:
The Student Handbook describes the policies of the Keck School of Medicine affecting students’ academic performance and professional behavior. It contains a description of the curriculum, and outlines various services available to you. Other resources for policies affecting students of the University of Southern California include the University Catalogue, and SCampus.
Although constantly evolving, this Handbook is a comprehensive inventory of policies that will directly affect your life during your time at the Keck School of Medicine. There is a large amount of detailed information. You do not need to memorize this, nor do you need to understand it fully before classes begin. One the other hand, you should be familiar with its organization and content so that you can use it as a reference to school policies and consult it as needed.
The Keck School of Medicine reserves the right to modify any policies at any time. As information changes, you will be notified of any revisions that supersede information contained in this book. Policies are current as of the time of posting, though policies may change during the year.
If you have any questions about any part of this Handbook, please come to the Office of Student Affairs in the Keith Administration Building (KAM 100-B), or call (323) 442-2553.
Sincerely,
Donna D. Elliott, M.D., Ed.D.
Associate Dean for Student Affairs
