Michael Henry Joseph

Associate Director, CHLA Comfort and Pain Management Program

Michael H. Joseph, M.D. is a pediatrician that specializes in pain management. After receiving his MD at Creighton University School of Medicine in 1993 and his pediatric residency at the UCI Medical Center Dr. Joseph completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pain Management and a postdoctoral research fellowship in Psychoneuroimmunology at UCLA Medical Center. Now as an Assistant Clinical Professor at USC Keck School of Medicine he is the Associate Director of Pain Services at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. At CHLA he has help create a multidisciplinary service that treats both acute and chronic pain in children. The service is actively involved in research investigating the perception of chronic pain in children and evaluating treatment outcomes.

Research Interests

Currently investigating the safety and efficacy of Propofol being administered by non-anesthesiologists to children undergoing MRI procedures.

Multi-modal Pediatric Acute and chronic pain therapy
