Audition Information
A performance audition is required of applicants to all programs in organ performance. Three or more selections from various stylistic periods of the standard organ literature should be prepared for the audition. All organ applicants are urged to contact Dr. Ladd Thomas, chair of the department of organ studies, at (213) 740-7703 to further discuss audition requirements and arrangements for an audition appointment. Organ auditions are generally not held on the scheduled Los Angeles audition date.
Graduate Certificate, Master of Music
Required items:

- 1-3 Letters of Recommendation (see the USC online application for instructions on how to submit)
- Materials to be delivered to USC Admission (click here for the correct mailing address)
- Official transcripts
- TOEFL score report - required from all MM applicants for whom English is a second language, regardless of educational background or immigration status.
- Audition (see below)

Doctor of Musical Arts
All of the materials listed below (with only two exceptions, as indicated below) must be prepared in one packet and mailed directly to the Thornton Admission Office. The full packet must be received by the Thornton Admission Office by December 1. Any application not complete by December 1 may be removed from consideration.
