FRED VOGLER ’88, MA ’90Fred Vogler won two GRAMMY Awards, Best Classical Album and Best Opera Recording, for his role as producer on Rise And Fall Of The City Of Mahagonny. Vogler was also engineer on Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique (Gustavo Dudamel and Los Angeles Philharmonic), nominated for Best Engineered Album, Classical.
GLORIA CHENG DMA ’91
Gloria Cheng won a GRAMMY for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without Orchestra) for Piano Music of Salonen, Stucky, and Lutoslawski. The album was also nominated for Producer of the Year, Classical (for Judith Sherman), on which Cheng is recognized as a performer.

Aaron Arntz played with Zappa Plays Zappa on "Peaches En Regalia," which won Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

Ndugu Chancler performed on the album Miles from India, which was nominated for Best Contemporary Jazz Album. The album, which celebrated the music of Miles Davis, featured Chancler performing on the track Miles from India.

Composer, arranger and conductor Vince Mendoza has been nominated for two GRAMMYs. The first was for his work on "Alfie" from The Look of Love–Burt Bacharach Songbook, nominated for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s). Mendonza's album Blauklang was also nominated for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album.

THOMAS NEWMANThomas Newman won the GRAMMY Award for Best Song Written for Motion Picture, TV, or other Media for the track "Down to Earth" (songwriter with Peter Gabriel) as well as Best Instrumental Arrangement for "Define Dancing" (arranger with Peter Gabriel); both songs were featured in the Pixar motion picture, WALL-E. WALL-E was also nominated for Best Score Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, TV or other Visual Media, on which Newman was a composer.
