USC Thornton Choral ProgramWelcome to the homepage of the USC Thornton Choral Department! We offer a number of opportunities for undergraduate and graduate singers, as well as a fantastic concert season for our Los Angeles audience. The USC Choral Program has a history of excellence; begun by Charles Hirt, such esteemed conductors as Rodney Eichenberger, William Dehning, and Paul Salamunovich have led the choirs to international renown. This fall, Jo-Michael Scheibe will assume leadership of the department. The USC choirs have a long history of performance both in the U.S. and abroad; their most recent foray abroad was to Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, where they sang to a packed house in the home of the Taipei Philharmonic. Additionally, the USC Choral Artists have sung under the direction of Christoph von Dohnanyi and Helmut Rilling at Disney Hall in Los Angeles. Whether you are interested in attending a concert, singing with one of the choirs, or pursuing graduate study at USC, please take a moment to browse around the site. Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch! |
