Biography

David Arnay, adjunct assistant professor of jazz studies and popular music, is an active and highly regarded pianist, composer, music teacher, and consultant in the Los Angeles area. On faculty at the USC Thornton School and at Pasadena City College, David devotes most weekday hours to his students, also performing several nights each week leading his own jazz group, as a piano soloist and sideman. Collaborations include extended runs with guitarist Phil Upchurch and reedman Bennie Maupin. His third jazz CD will be released in early 2013.
