Biography

David Arnay, adjunct assistant professor, jazz studies, is an active and highly regarded pianist, composer, music teacher and consultant in the Los Angeles area. A member of the jazz studies faculty at the USC Thornton School and Pasadena City College, David devotes most weekday hours to his students, while performing several nights each week leading his own jazz group, as soloist, or as sideman with guitarist Phil Upchurch, reedman Bennie Maupin and others. During the summer of 2002 his trio was featured at the Pori (Finland) Jazz Festival.
