Biography
Jack Smalley, assistant professor of clinical scoring for motion pictures and television, scoring for motion pictures and television, is an experienced composer and teacher, who has provided compositions and orchestrations for major television series and motion pictures. He studied composition with Edmond Marc and Darius Milhaud at the Conservatoire de Musique in Paris. His compositions can be head in classic television programs including
The Twilight Zone, Charlie's Angels and
Dynasty, and he has orchestrated many motion pictures, including
Antz, Red Dawn, The Gladiator, Smilla's Sense of Snow and
Prince of Egypt. Prior to teaching at the Thornton School, he spent seventeen years on the faculty of the Grove School of Music.
