Biography

Steve Trovato, senior lecturer, studio/jazz guitar, was presented the Gibson award for outstanding musical achievement from the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, where he graduated with top honors. He has studied with jazz greats Tal Farlow, Chuck Wayne and Pat Martino. Mr. Trovato maintains an active career in several facets of the music industry. He records extensively as a session player and can be heard on several television and motion picture scores. He has performed with Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Albert Lee, Albert Collins, Jerry Donahue, Norman Brown and Jeff Berlin. In 1996 he was a featured performer at Jazzfest in Sardinia and has toured extensively in North America, Asia and Europe. Mr. Trovato supplements his touring schedule with clinics and master classes. He is an artist/clinician for Roland Corporation, Thomastik-Infeld strings and Groove Tubes. His students have achieved major international careers and include Scott Henderson, Norman Brown and Frank Gambale. Mr. Trovato has authored 16 instructional books published with Warner Brothers and Hal Leonard. His instructional video is published by REH. He is currently a regular contributor to international music publications including Guitar Player, Guitar One, Axe, Guitar Club and Guitar World.
