Pharmacy Alumni Association

The USC Pharmacy Alumni Association was formed only a few years after the School of Pharmacy opened in 1905. Today, the Association represents a vast network of Trojan graduates, which are approximately 50% of Southern California’s practicing pharmacists.

The Pharmacy Alumni Association is a non-profit organization in the truest sense. It exists solely on modestly priced annual dues. Members pay a small, tax deductible charge for the opportunity to stay in touch with fellow alumni via the newsletter and social events. Membership fees assist the School of Pharmacy and its students, ensuring the School’s fine reputation and, ultimately, benefiting all pharmacy practitioners.

Serving Students and Alumni

The Pharmacy Alumni Association serves its members and the School of Pharmacy in a number of ways. Each year, the Board of Directors allocates funding to assist student organizations in School-related activities and travel. Through generous contributions the Association has fulfilled a $25,000 endowed scholarship, a $50,000 building pledge and the Charles Krown/Pharmacy Alumni Professorship.

The Association serves current students and alumni of the School of Pharmacy through many activities, including:

  • Sponsoring each spring the Alumni/Senior Awards Banquet each spring with complimentary entrance passes for the current graduating class and 50-year graduates
  • Recognizing outstanding members of the graduating class and honoring an Outstanding Alumnus and Honorary Alumnus who have made significant contributions to the profession of pharmacy at the Awards Banquet
  • Meeting on the eve of the USC Homecoming football game for class reunion receptions and dinner
  • Inviting alumni, students, family and friends to a pre-game Homecoming day picnic held on the University Park Campus to celebrate Trojan Spirit

Board of Directors

The Association’s 26–member Board of Directors is presided over by a President, Vice-President and Treasurer. Members of the Board of Directors are elected for three-year terms. The Board meets bi-monthly throughout the academic year and seeks the counsel of the Dean, student representatives and the QSAD President.

Any Association member in good standing may attend a Board of Directors meeting. Board members span a broad range of professional expertise and backgrounds. This diversity insures productive discussions that support the Board’s single goal—to serve all USC Pharmacy graduates.
