The Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy (PEP) Program, a collaboration with the USC Department of Economics, is widely recognized for expertise in pharmacoeconomics, outcomes assessment and comparative effectiveness research and policy. Launched in 1994, the program is distinguished as the first in the nation to focus exclusively on pharmacoeconomics.
This highly respected program awards both MS and PhD degrees and has the largest pharmacoeconomics alumni network in the nation. Many of these alumni hold leadership positions in industry, academia and government.
Since the program is research driven, students are provided opportunities for internships within major managed care organizations and pharmaceutical manufacturers. They are also provided with travel support to present their research at the annual ISPOR meeting in May and at other national and international meetings.
