Director - Teaching, Learning & Assessment

The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy is presently seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy (special professoriate) to serve as Director for Teaching, Learning and Assessment. The successful candidate will have either a Ph.D. or Pharm.D., experience in academia and a record of scholarship involving program assessment, student learning and evaluation of teaching effectiveness. Experience working in health science professional education is a plus. Duties of this position shall include: 1) Leadership in the development and administration of assessment programs for the School of Pharmacy, 2) Development and provision of programs to enhance teaching and student assessment skills of faculty; develop and administer the teaching evaluation process; develop materials that assess various components of teaching and student learning; and 3) Provide curriculum leadership and support; oversee curriculum and other related components of the Pharm.D. program; and assist with vertical integration of skills, knowledge and experience necessary in order to graduate students of the highest quality.

The candidate must have a working knowledge regarding the major areas of pharmacy practice, and have expertise in statistical analysis and report writing. The candidate must further have strong communication skills with an ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, staff, administration, alumni, and practitioners who support our experiential programs. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with qualifications.

Part-Time Lecturer – Regulatory Science
Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy

The University of Southern California is seeking an experienced part-time instructor who will design, coordinate and teach courses in regulatory science, with a specialization in Canadian, South American and European regulation. In this position, the incumbent will prepare submissions to the curriculum committee for new courses, and will train and work with new personnel and students assisting with the program; will identify new content needs and develop new curricular offerings to meet those needs; will identify and interface with experts who serve as speakers and resources for specific areas of educational offerings; will compile and evaluate data sources and publish articles in professional journals related to international regulation.

As additional functions, this individual will analyze and evaluate the impact of curricular offerings and solve problems related to course content or delivery; use computing skills to organize coursework and communicate with students using multimedia tools; serve as an advisor and mentor for students who require career counseling and academic assistance; play a central role in monitoring and communicating with distance students to ensure their engagement in the program.

This is a half-time position.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. or mix of postgraduate preparation and experience in the global regulatory management of medical products as a senior professional. Experience with instruction and distance media methods strongly preferred.

Clinical Faculty Position in Ambulatory/Primary Care
Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy

The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy invites applications for a non-tenure-track special professoriate clinical faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Candidates with ambulatory/primary care expertise and a strong record and interest in patient care, teaching and scholarship are desired. Applicants must have a Pharm.D., a residency or fellowship or equivalent experience, and licensure or eligibility for licensure in California.

The position focuses on the development of clinical pharmacy services in a primary care setting; building and maintaining relationships with physicians, administration, and staff; improving system functions; teaching pharmacy students and pharmacy residents from USC School of Pharmacy; and directing and participating in scholarly activities including collaborative clinical research. The successful candidate will be a skilled clinician with knowledge of medication therapy management and chronic care in the outpatient setting; demonstrates excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; possesses excellent teaching skills; and effectively collaborates and takes leadership in scholarly pursuits.

Clinical/Translational Scientist Faculty Position
Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy

The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position in clinical/translational science at the rank of Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates with an accomplished research record in any area will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates in oncology, neurosciences, and endocrinology or candidates who complement existing strengths in infectious diseases, immunology/HIV and pharmacogenomics.

The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy is located on the Health Sciences Campus, which includes the Keck School of Medicine as well as LAC+USC Medical Center, Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and USC University Hospital. The University recently established the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science whose mission is to promote bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-community translational research with an emphasis on improving the health of high-density, urban, multicultural populations.
