Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of the international leaders in the area of pharmaceutical research, particularly in the area of drug targeting or finding non-invasive routes for drug transport.

The Department owes its success to an outstanding faculty who:

• Take an active interest in mentoring professional and graduate students
• Conduct vigorous research projects in their laboratories, supported by grants and contracts from governments, foundations and pharmaceutical industries
• Achieve scientific excellence as indicated by their publications in leading scientific journals and election to prominent grant review panels
• Speak at national and international meetings and conferences
• Hold leadership positions in major pharmaceutical sciences societies and committees of regulatory agencies

Under their guidance and advice, graduate students in the Department have received awards for outstanding presentations in nationwide competitions at the annual meetings of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists during the past five years.
