Hypertension

Hypertension or high blood pressure occurs when the pressure of the blood flowing through your arteries is abnormally high. The increased pressure puts extra stress on vital organs and can lead to kidney failure, stroke, eye problems, heart attacks or heart failure if left untreated. Hypertension is a very common disease in persons over the age of 50 and is one of the leading causes of death in the United States.

To assess if you are at risk for hypertension, get your blood pressure taken today. If you have hypertension, ask your pharmacist about management programs at USC Pharmacy.
