Over the past 35 years, pharmacists have evolved from providers of drugs and drug products to specialists in drug therapy who identify problems early and reduce the emotional and monetary costs of patient hospitalization. Through its groundbreaking approach to education and research, the USC School of Pharmacy prepares students to fill this new role of the pharmacist as a direct care provider and key member of the healthcare team. Programs combine rigorous basic sciences with extensive clinical training and offer new, innovative methods in pharmaceutical care and research, in order to ensure students a successful future in the profession of pharmacy.
