The Residency and Fellowship Programs offered at the USC School of Pharmacy train pharmacists to be skilled clinical practitioners, researchers and educators. The residency programs are accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). The fellowship programs adhere to the guidelines of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. All residents and fellows begin July 1 and end on June 30.
Residency Programs
The USC School of Pharmacy offers both Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) and Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy practice residency programs in the following settings:
- Acute Care
- Ambulatory Care
- Cancer Care
- Community Pharmacy
- Critical Care/Cardiology
- Infectious Diseases
- Psychiatric Care
Resident activities include primary care practice, inpatient pharmacy practice, pharmacokinetic consultations, drug information, drug therapy preparation and distribution, clinical research and teaching. Clinical practice activities vary depending on the area of practice. Upon completion of their training, USC residents are highly sought and have accepted positions in academia, pharmaceutical research, pharmacy management and clinical services.
Fellowship Programs
The USC School of Pharmacy offers fellowships in academic research laboratories and in industry settings.
