San Francisco Chronicle: Bay Area new-home construction rebounds
By Carolyn Said. Construction of new homes around the Bay Area is on an upswing this year, showing signs of a return to normal following its surge during the housing boom and its dismal retrenchment during the downturn.

Richard Green, director of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, said that a growing population's demand had caught up with the existing supply, making it time for new homes to be built.
