Throughout his career as a real estate investment and innovative strategy leader, Stan Ross' skill, ingenuity, creativity, and foresight have guided the way we approach the business of real estate development and investment. His leadership at Ernst & Young LLP, E&Y Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group, the Irvine Company, Resolution Trust Corporation, and the Auditing Standard Board of the AICPA has made him an invaluable resource to academia, particularly due to his expertise in mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations, and the development of creative financial structures.
A long time friend of USC, Mr. Ross has played a pivotal role in the ascent of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate to one of the leading national academic centers in real estate. Mr. Ross has given countless hours of his time, expertise, and heart to the university, the center, and to dozens of students as the USC Lusk Center's Chairman of the Board. His exemplary leadership has impacted every facet of the university's real estate programs, and his tremendous commitment has been felt by all individuals associated with academic real estate at USC. Indeed, the Ross name has become synonymous with innovative academic and professional programs at USC.
In 2003, the Summer Program in Real Estate received a naming gift from Stan Ross and his wife Marilyn for the purpose of expanding the program and creating a new generation of real estate professionals who have become the driving force in the realization of communities. This gift provided the seed money for the creation of the Ross Minority Program in Real Estate, the umbrella program for all of the urban development programs offered by the USC Lusk Center. In keeping with the intent of the Ross's naming gift, the Ross Program launched its Winter Program in January 2004 and in November 2007, the Bay Area Ross Program. Thanks to their generous gift the program has expanded its reach and has provided countless students with the knowledge that real estate development can contribute to a community's prosperity and quality of life.
