Dr. Wilsie Bishop (MPA ’87, DPA ’89) was appointed Vice President for Health Affairs at Eastern Tennessee State University in June 2007, with the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Clinical & Rehabilitative Health Sciences reporting to her. She also continues as Chief Operating Officer of the University. (Submitted December 2007)
Michael Wright (MPL '89) has joined Economics Research Associates as a Principal. In this capacity, he will focus on new business development in the area of real estate and public-private development. He will also provide consulting services for clients that include private developers, investors and public agencies involved in real estate development or asset management issues. Wright specialized in public-private projects in his previous positions at the Sedway Kotin Mouchly Group, Ernst & Young, Kosmont Partners, and Grubb & Ellis. (Submitted February 2006)
Donna Munroe (Ph.D. Public Administration '88) received the 2006 Sullivan Award for Excellence in Research from the College of Health and Human Sciences, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL. Dr. Munroe is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing. Her research focuses on educational supports in gerontological nursing for undergraduate nursing students and organizational/agency systems for providing services to older adults in community-based settings. Victoria Valentine ('86, MRED '01) has joined the USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development as program specialist for METRANS Transportation Center, a joint program of USC and California State University, Long Beach. (Submitted November 2006)
Tony Russo (BS ’85) is group senior vice president of Corporate Affairs for The Irvine Company of Irvine, CA. In this role, Tony is responsible for overseeing the company’s federal, state and local corporate government relations. He also leads the Corporate Communications, Technology Advancement and Corporate Marketing groups. (Submitted August 2007)
Dr. Paul William Jones (BA ’81, MPA ’84), a physician/anesthesiologist, has just completed his term as President of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists for the year 2007-2008. Dr. Jones serves as Chairman, Department of Anesthesiology at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Dr. Jones received his medical degree from the University of New England COM, Maine in 1989. Barry Waite ('84, MPA '86) was elected to the Lomita City Council. His day job is still with the city of Carson — a job that started as a temp position arranged by USC! (Submitted June 2006)
