Established in 1992 to help promote the competitiveness of the state's smaller manufacturers (those with less than 500 employees). A nonprofit organization, CMTC provides manufacturing companies with business and technical consultants who provide service products in the areas of: Quality Systems, Management and Business Operations, Work Force Development. These services are delivered through a staff of over 100 consultants with vast experience in a variety of industries and manufacturing/business disciplines.

Center for Applied Competitive Technologies-San Diego (CACT-SD)
Located at San Diego City College, the CACT is one of 12 regional advanced technology centers designated by the State of California to assist regional manufacturers in modernizing their management of manufacturing and production technologies, thus enhancing their competitiveness in the global economy through manufacturing extension activities and technology transfer assistance.
